Man kills daughter-in-law and others over estrangement


LAHORE: An audacious man shot dead four people, including his daughter-in-law, her mother and a brother, over a family dispute arising out of estrangement in Lalyani police precincts in Kasur District. 
The daredevil chased two of his injured victims to a hospital in Kahna police precincts and shot at them again to ensure that they are dead. One of the suspect’s sons also lost his life after accidentally coming under fire.
Sonia left the house of her husband Shafqat after developing domestic issues a few months ago and started residing with her parents in Lalyani town of Kasur District. 
Shafqat’s father Sarfraz and brother Sikandar went to the house of Sonia’s parents for reconciliation but she refused to go with them. 
Her parents also endorsed her decision upon which Sarfraz got infuriated and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Sonia on the spot and injuring her mother Razia Sultana and brother Waqar and later fled the scene. 
Sikandar accidentally received a volley fired by his father and died on the spot. 
Razia Sultana and Waqar were rushed to a private hospital in Galwara village in Kahna police precincts. 
Sarfraz also reached there and shot at and killed the already wounded Razia and Waqar. He managed to flee the hospital again.
The police registered a case with no arrest so far while bodies were shifted to the morgue for autopsies.
Accident: Two people, including a woman, were killed in an accident in Mughalpura police precincts.
The police said that two speeding cars collided with each other on Shalimar Flyover as a result of which five people identified as Zohra Bibi, Ali Ahmad, Ainul Haq, Imran Akram and Khurram received injuries. 
They were rushed to a hospital where Zohra and Ali Ahmad, who was driving one of the cars, were pronounced dead while the others are said to be in critical condition also. The police handed over the bodies to their families after fulfilling legal formalities.  
Knocked Down: A speeding car knocked down a 23-year-old biker in Defence-A police precincts.
Naeem Shahnawaz, of Garhi Shahu, was on his way on Walton Road when the car hit him and fled. The injured was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police registered a case.
Bodies: The body of an unidentified man was found near Gate No 2 of Services Hospital in Shadman police precincts.
The police claimed that the man appearing to be in his fifties was an addict and apparently died of overdose of drugs. 
The decomposed body of another man appearing to be in his twenties was fished out from the Ravi River.
The Shahdara police said that some passers-by spotted the body floating in the river and informed them. The police sent the bodies for autopsies and identification.
