LAHORE: A woman was killed and another was injured when a police van hit them on Defence Road in Factory Area police precincts on Saturday.
The police said that the women, yet to be identified, were crossing Khayaban-e-Jinnah when a speeding police van hit them, as a result of which one of them was killed on the spot while the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The police are investigation the matter. In another incident, a speeding truck knocked down a 30-year-old biker in the limits of Gulshan-e-Ravi police station. The police said that Faisal, of Samanabad, was on his when the truck hit him near Chapper Stop on Multan Road, injuring him critically. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police gave the body to the family after fulfilling legal formalities.
Body: A 60-year-old man was found dead in his house in Liaqatabad police precincts.
The family of Bashir Ahmad returned from Raiwind after two days only to find the elderly man lying dead inside their house. The police said that there were no apparent marks of torture on the body, adding that the cause of death would be ascertained after an autopsy.
