LAHORE: Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said the nation has given a mandate of prosperity and stability of Pakistan to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in general elections 2013.
He said that Pakistan has started a journey of progress but Tahirul Qadri, Imran Khan and some “political orphans” are engaged in weakening Pakistan on the behest of foreign forces. He said that people of Pakistan will not allow such foreign agents to do so. He expressed these views while addressing a public rally along with PML-N workers taken out in connection with independence celebrations at his constituency Gulshan Ravi Lahore in which thousands of people carrying national flags participated. Rana Mashhood said that brave people of PP-149 Lahore by participating in a function regarding Pakistan’s independence in large numbers has given a message to those ruining Pakistan that they are with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and will join hands with them for foiling every conspiracy against the country.
He said that Imran Khan is bent upon to take people to Islamabad on the basis of lie and we will take people to KPK on the basis of truth. He said that if Tahir ul Qadri with his 20,000 people says that he will change the system and Imran Khan with 50,000 people can demand mid-term elections then we will stop the way of Imran Khan in Lahore with lakhs of people. He said that Islamabad is far away and we will cordon off Zaman Park Lahore. Earlier MNA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad said that the nation faced price hike and unemployment as a result of toppling of PML-N government in 1999 and is facing its consequences till today. He said that people of Pakistan are with Mian Nawaz Sharif and under his leadership, every sacrifice will be made for the prosperity of Pakistan.
On Saturday, while reiterating not to negotiate anything with the government before the ‘Azadi March’, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan directed his party workers to hold Sharif family accountable for anything happened to him.
The PTI chief termed the National Security Conference held on Saturday as “merely a photo session” and said that he stands by his party decision not to participate in it. He said the conference was aimed at exploiting issues of national security for political purposes. “I also ask leaders of all political parties to come up with a clear stance whether they stand by monarchy or democracy,” Imran said.
“The PM during the NSC meeting attempted to prove that the PTI stands isolated,” Khan said, adding that his party would show its strength on August 14. “No one can stop us. The march will take place and we are not going to budge from our stance,” he vowed. Imran warned that if the Punjab government continued with its fascist policy of preventing PAT workers from exercising their democratic right of protest, the PTI would be compelled to re-examine its options during its core committee meeting planned for Sunday (today) to formulate a strategy to tackle the situation. The PTI chairman promised that his part’s delegation would visit Minhajul Quran Secretariat on commemoration of the day of mourning Sunday.
