CM okays Daanish school in Fort Munro, 10 mobile units for south Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that billions of rupees have been provided for the development of backward areas, especially of southern Punjab districts, in order to remove development disparity in the province during the last six years. He said that improving living standard of the people of southern Punjab districts and bringing them into the mainstream was top priority of the PML-N government. According to a handout, the chief minister expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting on Saturday to review in detail various development and welfare-oriented projects in southern Punjab districts. 
MNA Awais Leghari, Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed, Planning and Development Board chairman and secretaries of departments concerned attended the meeting.
He said that billions of rupees were being allocated for the provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the inhabitants of southern Punjab districts. 
The chief minister said that a state-of-the-art-hospital completed with the cooperation of Turkey in Muzaffargarh would be inaugurated during the current month. He said that free of cost treatment would be provided to patients at Tayyip Erdogan Hospital and that all of its records would be computerised. 
Giving approval to the provision of 10 mobile health units for southern Punjab districts, the chief minister said that these units would help provide best treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people of south Punjab on their doorstep. 
Giving approval to establishment of a Daanish school in Fort Munro, the chief minister said that the Punjab government had set up all Daanish schools in backward and far-flung areas of the province. He said that establishment of Daanish school in Fort Munro would be an excellent gift from the provincial government to the local population. He said that Fort Munroe was our heritage and that it would be developed as a tourists spot. 
The chief minister said that foundation stone of the Information Technology and Engineering University in Rahim Yar Khan has been laid and that this project would be completed expeditiously. He said that in future, all water supply schemes would be run on solar power.
MNA Awais Leghari said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had won the hearts and minds of the people of south Punjab by announcing development packages worth billions of rupees. He said that a new era of prosperity would usher in after completion of development projects announced by the chief minister.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in road accidents near Sargodha and Talagang.
According to another handout, the chief minister directed health officials to provide best treatment facilities to the injured persons. He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
