The chief minister termed Imran Khan’s demand from Prime Minister Nawaz to resign as unconstitutional and undemocratic, adding that the PTI’s agenda stood exposed now.
He said that Imran Khan was depriving the people of their basic rights by threatening to oust the government, adding that Nawaz Sharif was the symbol of democracy in Pakistan.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan had demanded resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and fresh elections in the country. He had also said that complete set of demands and ways and means to achieve them would be presented on the Independence Day.
Mashhood rejects accusation on Saaf Pani Project contract: Responding to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s allegations regarding award of Saaf Pani Project contract to the sibling of a federal minister, Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that “Container Baba” has told another lie regarding Saaf Pani Project as contract of Saaf Pani had not been awarded to anyone as yet.
He said that the people have become fed up with allegations being levelled by “juggler Maulana” and have stopped paying heed to such accusations.
He said that the press conference of Dr Qadri and the Chaudhry brothers was a pack of lies.
Commenting on the press conference of Dr Qadri and the Chaudhry Brothers, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that those talking about long marches and revolutions would soon reach their logical end as the reality of these so-called leaders had fully been exposed to the people.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that predictions of Dr Qadri were his own creations and that he had told another lie by levelling false allegation of awarding contract of Saaf Pani Project to the brother of Federal Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
He said that the contract of Saaf Pani Project had not been awarded to anyone as yet. He said that days of “politics of lie” have gone and that the people now believe only in “politics of truth.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Punjab Saaf Pani Company has strongly contradicted awarding of any contract to the brother of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
The spokesperson said that the project was still in the planning process and that the company had not released any tender in this regard.
Therefore, the spokesperson said, the impression with regard to grant of contract to any person was “false” and “baseless.”
