LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has denounced the use of force against the protesting employees of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Haq said that PIA employees stood up for their rights. He urged the government to give up the idea of privatisation of national institutions. He said that national institutions had been destroyed by the culture of corruption and recruitments on political grounds. He said that rulers were responsible if the national institutions are not making profits or working efficiently. Instead of selling them off, he said, the government should control corruption at the national institutions. He said the government could not suppress the voice of the PIA workers. The JI chief said the rulers were keen on establishing a monarchy instead of rule of law in Pakistan. He said the JI had decided to launch a movement against corruption.
