Dengue totally under control, says minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that despite favorable temperature and unexpected rains dengue is totally under control.
He said for this achievement government departments deserve praise who worked on a comprehensive anti dengue strategy with close coordination and efficiency with the cooperation of public representatives. He said that dengue is our combine enemy and a comprehensive plan should be evolved to involve local community in all anti dengue efforts.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at the Commissioner’s office to review anti dengue campaign. Punjab Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that graveyards could be the breeding grounds of dengue larva therefore concerning departments should work on a war footing manner to thoroughly clean all graveyards and the local community should also be involved in this activity under the guidance of public representatives. 
He said that to make anti dengue steps more effective, a latest IT based pilot project of geo tagging is being launched with the cooperation of Fatima Jinnah University. He said that initially this project is launched in only one union council and will be extended to other UCs after evaluating its effectiveness. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that administration of Rawalpindi and Federal Capital should work in close liaison for the monitoring of anti dengue steps in bordering areas of twin cities. He said that heaps of garbage and encroachment should immediately be removed from the IJP road.
