Sir: Mian Nawaz Sharif has emerged as a winner but real test is ahead. Will he be able to deliver the promises he made just before the elections. He will be up against many challenges, foremost of which will be law and order and energy crisis. He will have to stabilize Baluchistan, FATA and Sindh and will have to maintain the writ of the government. He will have to resolve energy crisis which has dented the life of everyone, be it a common man or a rich person. His next challenges will be provision of basic necessities to people i.e. education, health, food and water. Another challenge for him will be the trial of ex-President General Pervez Musharraf. In Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif will be governing the province and it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to deliver or not. He has already backed off from one of his promise that he will be minister of water and power. He further will have to fulfil the ever growing expectations of young people. The issue of unemployment will be most important on the chart. He further will have to lay good foundations of governance. In Sindh PPPP and MQM will be governing together. In last tenure ex-CM Mr. Qaim Ali Shah said that had he got two more years, he would have brought peace into Karachi. Well let’s see as he has now got 5 more years. Whether they can live up to promise of Roti (Bread), Kapra (Cloth) and Makan (House) or whether fate of people will again be same like last 5 years. In KPK, PTI will be a forming a coalition government with JI and QWP. Being chairman of PTI, Imran Khan’s biggest challenge will be to govern that province as that territory is hardest one to govern but having repute of dealing and conquering the challenges it would be interesting to see whether PTI coalition government will be able to live up to its promises of providing peace, education and all basic necessities to people at state’s expense in good quality and whether they will be able to develop it as a model province. In Baluchistan PML N will be in coalition government with BNP. Baluchistan has witnessed some of the worst terrorism and destabilization in recent years. Along with KPK this territory will be hardest one to govern too and will be a real test for upcoming government. The coming 6 months to 1 year will make the picture crystal clear for all of us. I sincerely hope that all of them live up to their promises so that we can have a prosperous and peaceful life or otherwise this nation will lose trust in democracy. ANONYMOUS Via email
