Dinner held in honour of members at Arts Council

KARACHI: Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said that after fulfilling some legal formalities, Faizi Rehmeen Art Gallery would be made part of Arts Council Karachi.
He was speaking at the dinner held in the honour of members of Arts Council Karachi.
Rauf said, “Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was ready to work with the Arts Council Karachi in order to promote the city’s beauty.” Renowned singer Humera Channa also preformed and was greatly applauded by the audience on her folk and latest numbers. Successful musicians from music categories from youth festivals also performed and were praised.
Speaking at the occasion Arts Council of Pakistan chairman and Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said, “Arts Council has gained the status of a midpoint of culture and literature. By hearing budding singers, I have come to the conclusion that the opportunities these singers are looking for to show off their talent, Arts Council has somehow provided to them.”
Arts Council Secretary Muhammad Ahmed Shah said, “By conducting an International Urdu Conference for last six years, renowned personalities from Urdu literature are now keen to visit Pakistan around the year and that was only possible because members chose us to serve the arts.”
Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, senior artists Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, Qazi Wajid and members of Arts Council were also present on the occasion.
