ISLAMABAD – Activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday staged a protest demonstration outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office against what they called rigging in the last general election.
The PTI activists were holding placards and banners inscribed with 'anti-government' and 'anti-Election Commission' slogans. They chanted slogans against alleged rigging. The rally was attended by large number of PTI leaders and local workers.
Participants of the rally said they did not acknowledge mandate of the government. "Why government fears to hold re-counting in four constituencies,” they asked, adding that the situation will become clearer once re-polling was conducted. They threatened to use force if their demands were not met.
