India frees 32 fishermen, five civilians

LAHORE – Indian authorities have released 32 Pakistani fishermen and five civilians, four days after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

Officials said the prisoners arrived back home through Wagha Border. Pakistan on Sunday released 151 Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture a day ahead of Nawaz Sharif's visit to New Delhi where he attended Modi' oath-taking ceremony and held talks with Indian leaders in a bid to turn a new page in Pakistan-India bilateral ties.
