Mamnoon for efforts to purge society of terrorism


ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday called upon Muslims to make all-out efforts to purge society of extremism, terrorism and sectarians during the holy month of Ramazan, besides striving to seek pleasure of God.The president, in his message on the onset of the holy month, said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saying, Ramazan is the month of God and three of its Ashras (10-day groups) guaranteed divine blessing, forgiveness and deliverance from hell respectively. He also quoted a Quranic verse: Fasting has been obligated to inculcate piousness in you. He said the basic objective of the fasting was the character building as it forbade “us of all such acts which invite displeasure of God and teach acts which please God.”The president said besides being worship, the fasting also taught moral discipline and enabled the humans to live the life observing high moral principles. He said fasting also taught the humans the self-restrictions that was the soul of all reforms. Mamnoon Hussain said the country was going through a crucial stage and the democratic government was focused at resolving the law and order, economic and other issues. He said while enjoying the blessings of holy Ramazan, “we should not forget the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan, who need our attention and help.” The President prayed for blessings for the whole nation during Ramazan, success in the world and life hereafter and progress and prosperity for Pakistan.Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that following holy Ramazan’s true spirit of sacrifice, the nation should show unity with the internally displaced persons at this difficult time. “Holy Ramazan teaches us love, brotherhood and human respect. We cannot ignore our brothers and sisters from North Waziristan who are staying at camps, leaving their homes for sake of peace in the country,” the Prime Minister said in his message on the onset of holy month of Ramazan.
