ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is working according to the law and constitution.
Talking to journalists, the minister said that there was complete harmony between the government and the military. “Neither the government wanted nor the military itself to be a mediator or a guarantor in the political crisis,” he said.
To a question, the minister said that the military was asked to play a facilitative role which the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Friday. He said that the government has gone out of its way to accept all demands of the protesters.
He also said that people were coming to the government and asking it to clear Islamabad from the protesters as traders were suffering billions of rupees loss.
