Hamid Mir refuses to record statement in ISI presence

KARACHI – The eight-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate the April 19 attack on senior journalist and TV anchor Hamid Mir visited him at Agha Khan Hospital to record his statement, Business Plus channel reported on Wednesday.

The channel reported that Mir refused to record his statement in the presence of the representative from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Another TV channel reported that the joint team comprised of officials from Intelligence Bureau, Military Intelligence, CID, FIA, police and ISI.

Mir expressed gratitude to all people and said he had reservations over the inclusion of ISI representative and not on the MI in the JIT team. After his reservations, the team head asked for five-minute break at 2:35pm. However, the team could not return back.
