WAH: Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan has said the law and order situation in Karachi has improved a lot due to the ongoing operation against criminals and it will be expedited. The operation to flush out criminals from different areas of the city has already been sped up, Nisar said while talking to media at the Wah General Hospital. He visited the hospital to review the construction work underway their. The minister said the Karachi operation was launched by the government on the desires of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and after taking all the political parties, including the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), on board in August 2013. The government, he said, was still ready to address the reservations of the PPP and MQM regarding the operation. The law and order in Karachi and Quetta has improved a lot since the targeted action launched in 2013, he added. Responding to a question about PPP leader Dr Asim Hussain case, who is in detention over corruption charges, the minister said Rangers and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) are investigating the case and action would be taken as per the law. Interior Ministry had the Rangers’ investigation report and now NAB has also launched a probe into the matter, he added.
