Muslims asked to purge Pakistan of extremism, terrorism during Ramazan

President says displaced families need attention, help

ISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain called upon all Muslims to put in all out efforts to purge the society of extremism, terrorism and sectarians during the holy month of Ramazan, besides striving to seek true pleasure of Almighty Allah.


“As per Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)'s saying, Ramazan is the month of God and three of its Ashras (10-day group) guaranteed divine blessing, forgiveness and deliverance from hell respectively,” he said in his message on the start of the Islamic month.


He said the basic objective of the fasting was the character building as it forbade ‘us of all such acts which invite displeasure of God and teach acts which please God.’ The president said besides being worship, the fasting also taught moral discipline and enabled the humans to live the life observing high moral principles.


He said fasting also taught the humans the self-restrictions that was the soul of all reforms. Mamnoon said Pakistan was going through a crucial stage and the democratic government was focused at resolving the law and order, economic and other issues.


He said while enjoying the blessings of holy Ramazan, “we should not forget the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan, who need our attention and help.” He prayed for blessings for the whole nation during Ramazan, success in the world and life hereafter and progress and prosperity for Pakistan.
