KHUZDAR: Seven people were injured in a blast targeting a bus in the Garisha area of Khuzdar District in Balochistan Province on Monday, Levies personnel said.A Levies official told a private TV channel that militants targeted the passenger bus coming from Turbat through a remote-controlled bomb planted on the roadside. According to commissioner, the bus was partially damaged in the blast that left seven passengers injured who were moved to a hospital where two of them are said to be in critical condition.
The police and Frontier Corps clamped a security cordon around the area following the blast. There was no claim of responsibility for the attack. Khuzdar is considered one of the most sensitive districts of the province where militants have been targeting security forces and important national installations for over a decade.
Worsening law and order situation has forced hundreds of families to migrate from Khuzdar to different parts of Balochistan and Sindh Provinces. On Sunday, a blast ripped through Qandhari Bazaar in Quetta, killing a man and leaving several others injured. The blast occurred outside a shop when people were busy in shopping about an hour before Iftar.
