ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Thursday termed the registration of FIR in Model Town tragedy a positive development to break the current political deadlock. Talking to reporters, Shah said that though it was too late to file the FIR, but it would help defuse the tense situation.
Shah also called upon PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to come forward for the sake of the country and nation to resolve the crisis.
About the stance of his party in the present situation, the opposition leader said the PPP was not with the prime minister, but with the democracy and constitution.
“The supremacy of constitution would be protected at all cost against any misadventure,” he explained.
He also vowed that the PPP would stand against any extraconstitutional move in the country. He noted that the government was solely responsible to bring the situation to normalcy, as it is to take the decision because all powers rest with it.
