KARACHI – The Ministry of Interior Affairs through a letter written to the provincial administration of Sindh province has warned a possible suicide attack in Karachi in days to come.
Quoting the ministry, a private TV channel reported that the suicide attack can occur at any place in Karachi. The ministry asked the law enforcement agencies to adopt stringent security measures across the provincial capital to prevent any foul play.
The ministry said that terrorists had planned terror activities in different areas of the city. The letter has been dispatched to all relevant stakeholders including Rangers director general, inspector general of Sindh Police and high-ups of the provincial government.
The ministry also expressed concerned that different Chinese engineers working in Sindh could be abducted by miscreants. Ismail Phanwar – an arrested robber – confessed to police that planning had been made to kidnap Chinese engineers in Sindh.
The ministry directed the Rangers director general and Sindh police chief to ensure arrest of the culprits named by the nabbed robber.
