ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar will present the federal budget 2014-15 with total outlay of Rs 3.933 trillion on June 3 in the National Assembly.
The budget deficit will be four per cent of the GDP, which is prescribed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Economic experts said that Pakistan had progressed in view of the policies adopted by the present government, but electricity load shedding was still persisting with rising circular debt.
Traders are of the view that the government must expand its tax net if it intended to achieve tax collection target of Rs 2.8 trillion. They said that the government must also refrain from further burdening the current tax payers.
It was learnt that increase in salaries and pensions was also likely along with raise in funds for the Benazir Income Support Programme.
