LAHORE: The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) on Friday submitted its report on verification of votes in NA-118 to the election tribunal.
The report stated that no record was found for 50,000 votes, while 25,000 votes stood unverified. It says that 4,000 votes were found bogus and only 15,000 votes could be verified.
On Friday, the Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing of case regarding verification in NA-118. The election tribunal will now take a decision on the matter.
The election tribunal had earlier asked NADRA to carry out thumb print verification of votes in NA-118. Malik Riaz of PML-N had received103,346 votes in the constituency.
After May 11 elections, an application was filed by Hamid Zaman of the PTI who was adjudged to have finished as the runner-up. The tribunal ruled that the petitioner will have to pay the cost of the rechecking.
