‘Imran Khan can file a case against me’

Minister says he arranged Nawaz's victory speech

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rasheed has said that he was among those who arranged victory speech for Nawaz Sharif on election night.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that Imran Khan was welcome to file a case against him if this was a crime. He said that returning officers for the last general elections were deployed on Imran’s recommendations.

He said that caretaker prime minister and caretaker chief minister of Punjab Najam Sethi were nominated by the Pakistan People’s Party. The PTI chairman had met Sethi after his appointment as the caretaker chief minister.

He said that it was on Imran’s demand that Punjab’s caretaker government had changed the bureaucracy of the province. He said that the PTI’s Islamabad march will cost Rs 2 billion, urging Imran Khan to donate that amount to the internally displaced persons of the North Waziristan Agency.

The minister also said that the last year election was transparent and Hanif Abbasi lost his seat which he had repeatedly been winning in the past. On Friday, Imran announced that he will lead a ‘million march’ towards Islamabad on August 14 if PTI’s demands not fulfilled. “You have one month to get us the answers,” he asked the government.
