LHC orders removal of all containers

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered removal of all containers blocking key roads and thoroughfares in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. On an application filed by District Bar President Raja Nasir Mahmood, the bench observed free movement is a right of every citizen of Pakistan. The bench said that it had already issued directives in this regard but its orders are yet to be complied with. The bench scolded deputy advocate general and ordered him to submit a compliance report by Thursday evening. All major roads in Islamabad were blocked earlier this month ahead of marches of the PTI and PAT on the pretext of security concerns.
