RAHIM YAR KHAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Saturday said his party was fighting against the ‘profiteers’ and the ‘invaders’. Addressing public rallies in Rahimyar Khan and Sadiqabad, the PPP chairman said whoever stood for the poor in Pakistan has been killed. “Oppressed is not weak, it’s the oppressor who is weak,” he said. “Bhutto was the first person who raised the slogan that people are the centre of power. People are with us and we will fight against the cruel landlords and politicians together,” he added. Bilawal said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto rebelled for the poor as he was of the opinion that those who divide the people are the profit-seekers and that he was sentenced to death upon advising the people to unite. He said that Bhutto never wanted a divided Pakistan. He said there are many who are nowadays seen talking about the issues of the poor but only Bhutto knew how to sacrifice for the poor of his country. While referring to his late mother Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal said that she picked up the flag of her father after he was no more and continued the fight for the rights of the poor. Despite being a woman, Benazir confronted all elements of oppression and rebelled against the system, he added. Bilawal said that Bhutto’s grandson now holds his flag. Addressing to the people at the rally, he said, “I will never abandon you!” The PPP chairman said Nawaz Sharif cares about Indian farmers more than the farmers of Pakistan. He asked what benefit the so-called farmers’ package announced by the prime minister had given to the poor farmers. Bilawal said PPP was the only party that raised a strong voice against terrorism and extremism. “There are many who talk, but only a Bhutto can give life for the people of Pakistan,” the PPP chairman said.
