KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Faruqui chaired meeting of monthly stipend committee for needy and poor artists, poets and writers.
She stressed the need to devise a transparent manner in the process of distribution of stipend to deserving people.
The meeting was informed the total 712 artists enrolled in list and 174 new applications have been received, committee will also decided to consider new applications with the availability of funds and the most deserving applicants had been allowed stipend in 2013-14.
It was informed 22 beneficiaries of previous list has been passed away therefore, stipends would be paid to their legal heirs, 3 families have been submitted complete data while other families were collecting require documents and other formalities and ensure to provide right on time to avoid any delay.
