ISLAMABAD – A powerful earthquake on Wednesday jolted Peshawar, federal capital and their suburban areas – triggering panic among the residents. According to the Met Office, the quake was recorded 5.2 in magnitude on the Richter scale. The Met Office said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Hindu Kush Region of Afghanistan – with a depth of 309 kilometers. Panicked people rushed outside their houses and offices buildings reciting verses of holy Quran.
