LAHORE: Major political parties of the country have welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said the only solution to Pakistan-India issues was constant communication between the two countries. He said his party welcomes Modi in Pakistan. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that the continuation of meetings between the prime ministers of both India and Pakistan would yield positive effects on bilateral relations. Improvement in Pak-India relations, he said, was inevitable for sustainable and durable peace in the region. After improvement of relations, both the countries should make progress towards resolution of outstanding issues. He said international community also viewed the meeting between Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart as a positive development. Imran said in his recent visit to India, he had invited the Indian prime minister to visit Pakistan.
