ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday underlined the importance of relations between Pakistan and Russia in all fields especially in the fields of economy, culture and education.
On his last visit to Russian Federation, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq heading a parliamentary delegation, was warmly received by the Governor of St Petersburg , Geogry Polthovchenko and Speaker Legislative Assembly, Makarovs vyacheskav, here.
During a round table, Ayaz emphasized on immense potential of collaboration, saying we could not realize in sixty five years, must be realized in coming few years by gearing up political will and mobilization of resources, said a press release. The speaker National assembly also assured the Russian side that the parliament through its standing committees would do everything possible to facilitate the Russian business concerns by creating linkages between Pakistani and business communities through chambers of commerce and industries and public sector institutions and added that the convener of Pak-Russia friendship group in the parliament, Marvi Memon, MNA, would coordinate these efforts.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also underscored the need to speed up the process of declaring St Petersburg and Karachi as sister cities and proposed to hold
Russia-specific exhibitions in major cities of Pakistan to popularise Russian products in Pakistan to promote business relations at grass root level.
The speaker National assembly informed the meeting that a high level Pak delegation would visit Russia in September this year to further cement the trade and business relations between the two countries.
