ISLAMABAD - Energy expert, Dr. Shoaib Ahmad has said that launch of construction work of Dasu hydroelectric power project is a significant step to resolve energy crisis in the country.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that both Dasu and Diamer-Bhasha dams have the capacity to generate 9000 mw electricity. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's commitment would settle energy crisis issue soon. He maintained that hydropower is the cheapest source of electricity.
He urged that developmental projects should be strictly monitored to complete them within stipulated time. Energy expert Afzal Bajwa said that project will bring prosperity and development in the country as it will boost business and economic activities. Abid Qayyum Sulehri, Executive Director SDPI, said "incumbent government is initiating many mega power projects to fullfill its commitment to resolve the energy crisis."
