ISLAMABAD – Afghan National Security Adviser Rangin Rahimi Dadfar Spanta called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif separately.
Nawaz and Spanta discussed matters relating to mutual and bilateral interest during the meeting at the PM House in which National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant Tariq Fatimi were also present. The visiting adviser was accompanied by Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai, Afghan Deputy Foreign Secretary Atiqullah Hatifmal, Asadullah Akramyar and Hakimullah Foushanji.
At the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Adviser Spanta and General Raheel exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. Besides, the measures were also discussed to enhance security cooperation, particularly in the wake of ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb along the Pak-Afghan border and latest situation in Afghanistan.
