ISLAMABAD: In a bid to facilitate millions of compressed natural gas (CNG) consumers on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, state-owned gas utilities Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) have announced zero load shedding with effect to this decision CNG refilling stations across the country would remain open round the clock from next Monday to Saturday.
Giving the details of gas load management plan, official sources told Daily Times that two gas companies SNGPL and SSGCL took this decision after full assurance of support by the provincial and federal governments.
They said that the CNG re-fuelling stations across the country would remain open for 24 hours during the announced five days (from Monday 6am to Saturday 6am) in order to facilitate the journey of homebound people during the Eidul Fitr.
Meanwhile, the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has appreciated the government’s decision to observe no load shedding of gas in five days on the occasion of Eid. The sources also said that the SNGPL and SSGCL were taking effective measures to successfully implement the drive against gas theft without any discrimination and the federal and provincial government extended full support to the companies in this regard.
