NEW DELHI – The directors general of Military Operations of Pakistan and India held talks over the telephone covering all relevant issues including the ongoing ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in the divided state of Jammu Kashmir and working boundary and agreed to hold flag meetings to defuse the situation.
Indian army officials said that the talks were held around 12pm for about 10 minutes during which all relevant issues were raised. During the talks, both the sides focused on the issue of frequent ceasefire violations by the Indian Army. “The two sides have agreed to hold flag meetings at field levels by both the army and the border force to defuse the situation,” the army officials said.
Major General Amir Riaz from Pakistan and Lieutenant General PR Kumar from India discussed the border situation during their talks on hotline which takes place every Tuesday.
