ISLAMABAD – Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on a three-day visit on Wednesday on the invitation of Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal KA Gunatilleke.
During his stay, the air chief will call on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and meet top military leadership including Defence Secretary Hon Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the services chiefs, according to a message received from the Pakistan Mission in Sri Lanka.
The air chief will also hold discussions on matters of professional interests with his Sri Lankan counterpart Air Marshal KA Gunatilleke. The visit of the air chief underscores the historic ties and friendly cooperation between the two countries. The visit will provide both sides an opportunity to review ongoing cooperation and collaboration and to discuss ways to further broaden and deepen this relationship.
