Rehman recommends PM-level meeting on equality basis

ISLAMABAD – Former Interior Affairs minister and prominent Pakistan People’s Party leader Rehman Malik praised the decision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to accept invitation from Rarendra Modi to visit India during oath taking ceremony, to be held on Monday evening.

Talking to journalists, Rehman said that Nawaz Sharif has taken right decision to accept invitation of newly-elected prime minister of India. He recommended that the upcoming meeting between the prime ministers of Pakistan and India should be held on equality basis.

He urged that the neighbouring countries should work together to vanish poverty amongst their masses. After days of speculations, finally a statement from the Prime Minister’s House had confirmed that Nawaz Sharif will go to New Delhi on the invitation of India’s next prime minister.

The former minister also provided his stance over the ongoing negotiation with the militants in Tribal Areas, saying that dialogues period with Taliban was finished and the waves were going towards a military operation.
