Imran feels his words was wrong, inappropriate against ex-CJ

PTI chief says entire nation respects Justice Iftikhar, appreciates his services

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday filed his response to former chief justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry's defamation notice.

In his response, Imran said the entire nation respects Justice Iftikhar for standing up to a dictator and appreciates his services. He said that his selection of words was wrong and inappropriate against the former chief justice and spoke out of control under sentiments of disappointment and protest over the vote rigging.

“It was unintentional. I hope you will forgive it,” he appealed. The notice was issued to Imran Khan last month for his inflammatory statements against the former chief justice who stated that the PTI chief defamed him after his retirement and allegedly involved him in political affairs.

Imran tendered the six-page reply to Justice Iftikhar’s notice.
