PTI to introduce impartial, credible accountability system, says Imran

PTI chairman says fair accountability missing in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that there was no accountability in Pakistan and that his party will introduce a new, impartial and credible accountability system to zero the corruption.

Addressing the 18th foundation day celebrations of PTI at Orchard Scheme, Imran said that the responsible authorities to lessen the corruption in the society had turned into the collaborators of the white-collar criminals. He said the fair accountability was missing from the scene in Pakistan.

He also said that there was no political intervention in governance system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We have de-politicised the policing system in the province,” he said. About the operation in tribal areas, he said that PTI never supported the operation against Pakistani citizens.

He also said that free, fair and transparent elections were the prime responsibility of the supreme judiciary. Former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was involved in election rigging plan for snatching the mandate of the masses, he said. He demanded of the government to expose all forces behind rigging plan and suggested treason trial against them.

“Iftikhar Chaudhry was also involved in the match fixing,” he said, and expressed his reservation over the meeting of former chief justice with the returning officers before holding the May 2013 general elections. About Hamid Mir, the PTI chairman said the attack was deplorable but the aftermath of the attack was condemnable as the state institutions were maligned and distorted by a media group.
