Four policemen shot dead near Dera Murad Jamali

QUETTA: At least four policemen were gunned down in Shehansha area of Chattar near Dera Murad Jamali in Nasirabad district of Balochistan on Thursday. According to Chattar Station House Officer (SHO) Ali Hassan, a police mobile was on routine patrolling when unidentified armed men opened firing on the mobile from a mountainous area. “Four policemen, including an ASI, were killed as a result of the attack and the assailants managed to escape after the incident,” Ali Hassan said. Police and law enforcement agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area for collecting evidence. The deceased policemen were taken to the nearby public hospital for medico-legal formalities. “Due to intense firing, the policemen died instantly,” doctors at the hospital told the media. The victims of the attack are ASI Kareem Bukhsh, constable Wahid Bukhsh, constable Sadora Khan and Ravot Domki. Police have lodged an FIR against unidentified armed persons and launched a hunt for the killers. Tension prevailed in the areas after the killing of the policemen. Security was beefed up further to deal with any untoward occurrence in reaction to the killings.
