PM to spend two days in India

Nawaz-Modi will have bilateral meeting on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD - Foreign Affairs Ministry on Saturday issued schedule of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s most talked about visit to India.

According to Foreign Office, Prime Minister Nawaz will leave for New Delhi on Monday morning where he will attend the oath taking ceremony of Indian prime minister-designate Narendra Modi. The prime minister would also hold meeting with Indian President Parnab Mukherjee the same day.

Prime Minister Nawaz will have a bilateral meeting with new Indian prime minister on Tuesday. Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and foreign secretary will accompany the prime minister during the visit, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.

Nawaz would return home on Tuesday evening. The occasion will provide an opportunity to devise a strategy for moving forward towards bringing peace to the region and normalize ties with India for which Pakistan has always expressed determination and resolve. It is pertinent to mention that Narendra Modi had officially invited Nawaz Sharif to attend the ceremony.
