LAHORE: At least 13 people, including four women and a child, were killed when a van fell into a canal in Changa Manga on Saturday. According to police, the van was heading towards Pattoki from Chhanga Manga when it skidded of a bridge near Waan Aadan and fell into BS Link Canal. Resultantly 13 persons drowned while 10 others were rescued. Rescue teams recovered victims with the help of boats and divers and shifted eight of them to the hospital. The injured were stated to be in a stable condition. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a two-member committee to investigate the Changa Manga van accident. The committee comprised Lahore commissioner and Sheikhupura regional police officer. The special committee has been directed to submit the report to the chief minister within three days after determining responsible of Changa Manga van incident.
