ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif postponed his visit to Quetta on Wednesday due to illness.
Nawaz’s visit to Quetta was scheduled and he was visiting to set a meeting for discussing security issues in Quetta and Balochistan. According to the sources, the prime minister is suffering from high blood pressure. He had a scheduled meeting with Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik, Balochistan FC IG, and other senior civil and military officials. The prime minister was scheduled to be the chief guest at the launch of “Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for the Less Developed Areas” in Quetta.
In the absence the PM Nawaz, the finance minister launched the programme. The scheme is aimed at encouraging talented students of the less developed areas in their pursuit of higher education by reimbursing the 100 percent cost of the education of the post- graduate students undertaking master’s, MPhil and PhD degrees.
