PML-N calls Lahore tragedy conspiracy

Farooq says Minhaj workers, Elahi’s loyal cops behind killings

ISLAMABAD – Chief Coordinator of Pakistan Muslim League-N Siddiqul Farooq has said that the murder of 12 innocent citizens in Lahore was part of Qadri-Chaudhry London plan, hatched to discredit the elected government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that the armed workers of the Minhajul Quran Trust and some loyal policemen of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi were used in the implementation of this plan which was finalised during meetings in London.

It was decided in London that Tahirul Qadri would change his programme of coming to Pakistan from July to June, he said. It was also decided that killing of some persons was necessary to create an atmosphere for garnering the sympathies of the people, he said.

He said that conspirators behind the removal of the barriers played the key role in the implementation of the London plan which was prepared to fail the steps being taken by the government to strengthen economy and defence, and prosper the masses.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has formed a judicial commission to identify hands behind the killing of a policeman and eleven others, he said. The commission would complete its investigations according to its mandate whether Tahirul Qadri's people appear before it or not, he said.

He said when Tahirul Qadri staged a drama about murder attack at his house in 1990, the high court commission had exposed the drama. The report released by the high court judge on August 8, 1990 declared Tahirul Qadri as a liar, and publicity hungry person. Under this verdict, Tahirul Qadri does not fulfill Article 62 and Article 63 of the constitution, he said.

Siddiq said to reach the real facts of Model Town tragedy, the following questions are worth investigation: Who fired from the roof of Minhajul Quran building, who supplied sticks to workers and students of Minhajul Quran, who supplied bricks for pelting on police, why Tahirul Qadri sent message on Twitter to his workers to lay down lives at 6:30AM.

“Was it not aimed at persuading the workers to attack police, why the CCTV footage has not been given to tribunal, is it not a crime to use Minhajul Quran for political purposes, and under what law Tahirul Qadri issues direction to armed forces for taking over Islamabad airport and Model Town,” he questioned.
