GHALLANAI: At least three people, including a Levies man, were killed and two security personnel injured in separate landmine blasts on Monday. Official sources said that a vehicle struck landmine planted by unidentified miscreants near Pak-Afghan border in Baizai sub-division of Mohmand Agency. The vehicle was badly damaged in the explosion, resulting in death of Naib Sobedar Naseer Khan, marble contractor Umer Khan and another local person identified as Irshad. In the same area, a vehicle of security forces struck another landmine in which two security personnel were critically wounded. They were rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mahtab Khan, who was on a visit to Mohmand Agency, also inquired after the health of the injured security personnel at Ghallanai Headquarters Hospital. The security forces cordoned off the area after the explosions and arrested 16 suspects during a search operation.
