ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rahsid on Thursday ruled out Imran Khan’s claim of possible crackdown against protesters in Islamabad.
“If the government wanted to launch crackdown against the protesters in Islamabad, it would have done that long ago,” he said while responding to Imran Khan’s claims. The minister said that the government was not intending to carry out crackdown against the sit-ins staged by both Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri.
Earlier, Imran Khan warned the government against bloodshed after reports that the government has decided to launch a crackdown on PTI workers in the federal capital. He said that no one can remove the government by staging sit-ins.
