Bomb attack leaves 3 dead in Khuzdar

QUETTA: As many as three people, including a Frontier Corps official, were killed and 22 others, four FC men amongst them, injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Khuzdar District, on Saturday. Speaking to the media, Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Waheed Shah confirmed that 18 civilians were also injured in the blast. Giving details of the blast, Khuzdar police said that an IED was rigged to a motorcycle which was parked at Allahwala Chowk at Jinnah Road. The bomb went off as the vehicle of the FC passed by, police said and added that as a result, as many as three people, an FC men amongst them, lost their lives, while four FC men, including 18 civilians, were injured. The FC and rushed to the site soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. The injured were shifted to the Khuzdar Combined Military Hospital and the injured civilians were taken to the Khuzdar District Headquarter Hospital. DC Khuzdar told media that investigation into the incident is underway. He expressed the fear that banned outfits could be behind the attack. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack yet.
