ISLAMABAD - Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to resign and proposed to keep the parliament in session till the protests continue.
''I request the prime minister not to resign at any cost. Nawaz Sharif is not simply a person, he is Leader of the House and this parliament is with him. Therefore, no resignation at all,'' he said on a point of order, during discussion on political situation in the country.
Achakzai said that democratic and undemocratic forces are now face to face. Therefore, parliament must be in session till these undemocratic protests continue. He also called upon the prime minister and opposition leader to convene meeting of parliamentary parties and also cancel the leaves of parliamentarians.
He said there is only one parliament in the country and that is where we are sitting and discussing the problems of people. He also asked the prime minister to answer the allegations of Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri and demanded the House to support Nawaz Sharif in these tough times.
