KARACHI – Senior journalist and anchorperson Hamid Mir injured in an attack by un-identified persons who were following him from the airport, a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
The channel reported that some unidentified armed men ambushed Mir’s vehicle at Natha Khan area when he was traveling from the airport to his office. He was shifted to Agha Khan Hospital, as he received two bullet injuries, the channel reported.
Karachi police chief Shahid Hayat said that Hamid Mir has been shot twice. The channel reported that four gunmen riding on two motorcycles opened fire on Mir’s car a few kilometers away from the Airport Police Station.
After being attacked, Hamid Mir spoke to his colleague in Islamabad Rana Jawad, and said that the gunmen were following him and continue to fire at the car. The gunmen continued to fire on Mir’s car from near the airport to Karsaz.
