SIALKOT – At least two Chenab Rangers and a Pakistani citizen were injured in the early hours of Monday when India’s Border Security Force (BSF) fired shots across the Working Boundary into the Charwah and Chaprar sectors near Sialkot.
There were also some reports that firing from across the boundary killed several livestock. Chenab Rangers responded to the shots and an exchange of fire took place with the use of heavy weapons along the Working Boundary after which firing from the other side stopped.
The firing had begun on Sunday night and continued until Monday morning. The incident comes days after India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Pakistan of waging a proxy war in Kashmir as he visited the town of Kargil.
