Saad urges PTI to respect PML-N mandate

*Minister says matters should be resolved through dialogue

ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should respect the mandate of people who have elected the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz government in 2013 general elections to run the democratic system in the country. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should focus on resolving the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and avoid protest demonstrations during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said, “It is very unfortunate that KP cabinet arrived in the federal capital for holding protest demonstration and left the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the lurch.” Talking to a private television channel, he said that the people living in the KP were facing a number of problems emerged due to heavy rains. There was a dire need to start rehabilitation work in Peshawar and adjacent areas, where heavy rain had played havoc.  Khawaja said the KP ministers should focus on providing relief to a large number of IDPs, rain-affected people and avoid damaging the political system. To a question regarding long march of PTI, he said that all the matters or issues should be resolved through dialogue or talks. He said that the Interior Ministry had made special security arrangements to avoid any mishap in the area. The minister hoped that PTI and PAT workers would not disturb the peace of the federal capital. Replying to another question regarding demands of PTI, he said that the government had formulated a committee to discuss the issues of PTI for finding solution falling under constitution. He said the PML-N core committee has devised a strategy to address the situation evolved out of the marches. Taking part in a TV programme, he said the core committee has held three sessions to analyse the demands of the PTI and PAT. The minister said negotiations should start with the parties involved within a day or two. He said Imran Khan keeps on changing his demands and most of these have political motives.
