ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has reiterated its support for peace dialogue with the Taliban and urged the government to break deadlock that may prevail.
PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari in a statement issued here on Saturday said that the PTI Core Committee was given an extensive briefing by Rustum Shah Mohmand on the government-Taliban talks and their present status.
The PTI reiterated its support for dialogue and urged the government to break any deadlock that may prevail. The party also pointed out that the dialogue has already shown positive results in the reduction of terrorism by the Taliban; and the tribals asserting their support for peace through dialogue.
PTI resolved to stand by its position that peace can only come through dialogue and never through military operation as the history has shown, the spokesperson said.
