Seven die in Koja Bugti tribes clash

RAJANPUR: Seven persons were killed and several others injured in crossfire between two Bugti tribes in Barro area along the Punjab-Balochistan border on Saturday morning. According to sources, irrigation water dispute arose between two Koja Bugti tribes, one led by Thagani’s son Chura and the other by Dil Murad’s son Masha Allah of the Rojhan Mazaari tribal area near the Barrah Police Station. Seven people including Masha Allah, Sadiq, Bota and his two brothers died and four others sustained injuries as a result of the verbal clash turning violent. The firing between the groups continued for several hours. Border Military Police, Punjab Police and Rangers intervened to diffuse the situation. According to local people, a sense of fear prevailed as dwellers of the area were restricted to homes. The bodies and injured were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. The police have registered a case against armed men of both groups and began raids for their arrest. The law enforcement agencies of both provinces launched a joint patrol to avoid any untoward situation.
